British Columbia Interior Vacations from $957

I prefer staying in inexpensive accommodations and don’t expect luxury at a budget price. I’m perfectly happy with older, basic places when they’re clean and maintained. Unfortunately, this property felt neglected rather than simply dated. Positives: very inexpensive, free Wi-Fi, A/C, cable TV, microwave, glass two-burner cooktop, and a larger-than-average fridge with separate freezer. The bathroom towels provided were clean. However, the online photos make the property look considerably better maintained than it is. There were dirty doorframes, heavily marked walls, missing baseboards/trim, peeling finishes and a water-stained lampshade. Bathroom grout was dirty and appeared moldy around the tub. Some cutlery left loose in the drawer was visibly dirty, and there was no kitchen towel. Beds were very hard, felt hollow and moved significantly when someone rolled over. Bedding was worn. The advertised pool was not usable during our stay, with no notice we saw when booking. The property is also beside a highway and double railway tracks. No whistles or bells, but frequent train/track noise. There’s a difference between inexpensive and poorly maintained. Unfortunately, this felt like the latter.

One of the best hotel kitchenette's I've come across while travelling! Good value for the price we paid compared to other hotels on our trip. Convenient location. Decent shower. Good enough beds. Well rounded stay.

I don't know if I would call this a comfort room. It was incredibly tiny and cramped and seems very overpriced for what you get. Our room smelled like it has previously been smoked in for years, painted over, then sanitized. The strong chemical/old cigarette smoke smell gave us a headache, didn't help that someone was also chain smoking outside our room and the door wasn't sealed well. The staff were very kind when I asked for a different room but were all booked up, likely due to the nearby wildfires. The bed was incredibly lumpy, that being said, I did sleep very well. It suited our needs as a brief stopover on a long drive but would not book again.
